Ben Reed won the Democratic nomination for Jackson County Circuit Judge with 1,408 votes, defeating Heather Heaslett (1,160) and Casey VanWinkle (572).
Reed will challenge Republican Jamie Snyder for the judge seat in the November general election.
In the Illinois General Assembly, Republican Darren Bailey is set for a rematch against current Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker after defeating Ted Dabrowski, James Mendrick and Rick Heidner.

Illinois Rep. Paul Jacobs has won the Republican nomination for Illinois’ 59th Senate seat, defeating Franklin County Treasurer Stephen Vercellino, while retired radio talk show host Scott Doody has won the Republican nomination for Illinois’ 118th House seat, defeating Harold Visser, a contractor from Chicago, and Dayton Loyd, a U.S Army and National Guard Veteran from Makanda.
Jacobs, who is vacating the 118th Illinois House seat to vie for Dale Fowler’s soon-to-be vacant 59th Illinois Senate seat, will face off against Democrat Tamiko “T.C.” Mueller. Independent William Lo is also running for the seat, but will need to secure signatures from 5% of those who voted in the last general election by May 26 to be on November’s General Election ballot. Doody will challenge Democrat Chip Markel to replace Jacobs in the 118th Illinois House District come November.
Current Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton won the Democratic nomination for outgoing U.S. Senator Dick Durbin’s seat after defeating Raja Krishnamoorthi, Robin Kelly and Kevin Ryan, according to the Associated Press.
She will challenge Republican nominee Don Tracy this November, after he defeated Jeannie Evans, Casey Chlebek, R. Cary Capparelli, Pamela Long and Jimmy Tillman, according to AP.
