Department of Public Safety

Police reported Sunday Tarik T. Smith, an SIUC student from Chicago, was arrested at Wall and Grand Building Two for possession of cannabis. Smith was issued a pay-by-mail citation and then released.

Joshuah A. Jackson, 33, from Cobden, was arrested Sunday at 800 South Illinois Avenue for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage.  Jackson was issued a $100 cash bond and released.

An SIUC employee reported suspected unauthorized access to his SIUC e-mail account.  The suspect of the crime was identified and reported Monday in Lindegren Hall.

Carbondale City Police

The Carbondale Police Department responded Sunday to a burglary report at the 700 block of South Illinois Avenue. Officers learned an unknown suspect forced entry to a business and stole property around 6:45 p.m. Aug. 11 and 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12.  The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
