Hunter Hayes will be performing at Shryock Auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 9 as part of Southern Illinois University’s “Salukis on the Frontier” homecoming week.
Hayes is a multi-genre artist most known for his country hits. His self-titled debut album reached No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart in 2011 according to his profile on grammy.com. The album launched his career, setting him up for three GRAMMY nominations and a Hot Country Songs chart No. 1 hit with his second single “Wanted.” Since then, Hayes has gone on to earn more than 50 award nominations and wins, including two more GRAMMY nominations, according to his website.

Country music singer-songwriter Tiera Kennedy is set to open. Kennedy is the host of Apple Music Country’s radio show “The Tiera Show.”
The concert was announced via social media by the Student Programming Council Monday.
Tickets will be available starting Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 9 a.m. Students can purchase up to three tickets each at the Banterra Center box office. Balcony tickets are $20, floor level tickets are $40 and pit tickets are $60 dollars. Students must present their student ID in-person to purchase tickets.

Early student tickets will be available for one week. Tickets will go on-sale to the general public in-person and online next Wednesday, Sept. 25.
