Carbondale police announced Thursday an arrest has been made in the “suspicious” fire at a vacant church building at 218 W. Walnut on February 23.
Police say the suspected arsonist is 35-year-old Ramil D. Mize of Carbondale. He was taken into custody during a search of a residence in the 500 block of West Kennicott Street. He was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail.
Police are asking for the public’s help in the “active and ongoing” investigation.
