Salukis go 1-2 against the Aces

Friday April 7 was the start to a three game series in Evansville, IN. In the first game of the series the Salukis had a season high score of 17 runs taking the win 17-1. Elizabeth Warwick tallied a career high seven RBIs to contribute to the Salukis 17 runs. Emma Austin got on base in all four of her appearances at the plate and ended with a season high of four runs. Madi Eberle pitched for the Dawgs, adding her 13th win to the season only allowing one run throughout three innings.

On to the second game of the weekend the Salukis took a close 3-4 loss. Although they had an early lead in the first inning with a run scored by Warwick thanks to an RBI by Rylie Hamilton. Tori Schullian had an RBI to tie the game in the fifth inning. Austin led the team in hits tallying two, Warwick and Hamilton both had one run.

The third game of the series against the Purple Aces was held at a 0-0 score until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Aces scored two runs. The rest of the game remained scoreless, giving the Aces a 2-0 win and moving the Salukis to 10-4 in conference play.

The Salukis will be back in action on April 11 in Cape Girardeau, MO when they take on the Redhawks of Southeast Missouri State. The game will be streamed at 3 PM on ESPN+.
