Saluki women’s basketball traveled to Springfield, MO to take on the Missouri State Bears with hopes of bringing home a road win.

These hopes fell short in the second half when the Bears took over,  holding the Salukis to only eight points scored in the third quarter, compared to their 28.

The Salukis started the game strong, coming close in the first quarter 13-15 and out scoring Missouri State in the second quarter 25-15.

Southern was led by junior guard Sherma Williams who had 17 points and two rebounds, followed by freshman guard Jaidynn Mason with 13 points, Laniah Randle who had seven points, and Ashley Jones who followed close behind with six points.

The Salukis fell to Missouri State 78-57.

Southern travels to Chicago on Jan. 14 to take on UIC with hopes to back bounce from today’s loss.
