Salukis sweep Belmont 2-0 for first conference win of the season

Saturday, the Salukis (4-2-2)  traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to take on the Belmont Bruins (3-3-4) for their second conference game of the season. 

Senior goalkeeper, Maddy Alaluf, made three saves in the first half of the game and two in the second to hold the Bruins which allowed her to add a third shutout to her resume.

The Dawgs defense continued to suppress the Bruins offense throughout the second half to leave the Bruins scoreless.

The Salukis outshot the Bruins 12-9 and 8-5 on shots-on-goal. 

Senior midfielder Christy Murauskis, scored the first goal for the Salukis at the 75th-minute mark to give them the lead, followed by Kaitlin DuCharme’s second goal at the 82th minute mark to secure the win for the Dawgs.

Senior defender, Parish Walsh, and senior forward, Liz Brechtel followed Alaluf and DuCharme as game leaders. Walsh had two shots, both of them being on goal. Brechtel followed behind her with one shot on goal. 

The Salukis will host Missouri State on September 29 to take on the Bears, with hopes to bring home another conference win.
