Also on Saturday in Bloomington, senior runner Kayla Schiera ran her personal best time of 9:42.77 in the 3000m. This time ranks second all-time for Saluki runners.

Now, in Louisville, sophomore runner Iaunia Pointer placed second in the 60m with a time of 7.53. Pointer also made history during the meet, as she ran a facility-best 23.90 in the 200m for first place in the event.

The Salukis’ next meet will be on Feb. 4-5, in the SIU recreation center. The event will take place all day and will be hosted by the university.

This is the Don Denoon Invite, named after Denoon who was a track and cross country coach at SIU for 18 years. The event was named after his service to both programs.
