Death of Mishealia Meredith leads to manhunt for southern Illinois man

Alexander McWilliam, 36, is wanted for alleged first degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Mishealia Meredith of Harrisburg.

Following the discovery of Meredith’s body on March 14, Harrisburg police began a search for McWilliams.

McWilliams is believed to be armed and dangerous, and officials warn not to approach him.

Illinois State Police ask that if a member of the public sees or knows his whereabouts they are advised to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigations Zone 8 at (618) 542-2171.
