COVID-19 Update: Jackson County reports 21 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday

Jackson County Health Department reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

There have been 4,239 confirmed cases in Jackson County and 64 deaths, according to the release, and 3,901 individuals have been released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Gov. Pritzker announced on Saturday in a release that Region 5 is allowed to enter Tier 1 of COVID-19 mitigations. With the mitigations indoor dining is permitted with 25% capacity. Social gatherings are limited to 25 guests or 25% room capacity.

Franklin and Williamson Counties reported 52 new cases and one death on Tuesday.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Health reported 4,318 new confirmed cases on Tuesday and 50 additional deaths.

The Jackson County Health Department asks all residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with health department officials as they conduct contact tracing.
