COVID-19 Update: Jackson County reports 33 cases

Jackson County Health Department reported 33 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

The cases included four individuals under 10, three teens, 10 in their 20s, six in their 30s, six in their 40s, two in their 50s, one in their 60s and one in their 70s.

As of Wednesday, there have been 3,499 confirmed cases in Jackson County and 54 deaths, according to the release, and 3,066 individuals have been released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Franklin and Williamson Counties reported 108 cases and five deaths Wednesday.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Health reported 6,762 confirmed cases on Wednesday and 135 additional deaths.

As of Wednesday, there have been 918,070 positive cases in the state of Illinois and 15,547 deaths.

The Jackson County Health Department asks all residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with health department officials as they conduct contact tracing.
