Saluki Women’s Basketball player tests positive for COVID-19, team takes pause from next three games

By Staff Report, News Desk

SIU Women’s Basketball team is taking a pause from the next three games of the season because one of their players has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a release from SIU athletics.

Due to contract tracing and subsequent quarantines, the team will not have the minimum eight players required for Sunday’s game at Memphis, according to the release.

“The Salukis will begin a 7-day pause until re-testing can take place, and will also cancel their appearance at next weekend’s Compass Challenge hosted by Eastern Illinois,” the release said.
