Confirmed COVID-19 case in Mattoon

A positive case of coronavirus was reported in Mattoon, Illinois, WAND News reports.
There have been confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Mattoon and East St. Louis. They are the closest confirmed cases to Carbondale.
The patient was treated in the emergency room of Sarah Bush Lincoln hospital. The patient is now self-quarantined as a result of the tests, according to WAND News.

The patient lives in one of the 10 counties Sarah Bush Lincoln hospital provides service to.
WAND News said the patient called ahead of time, so Sarah Bush Lincoln had time to prepare. The confirmed COVID-19 patient was not in contact with other patients in the hospital.
Two women in St. Clair County, East St. Louis, were confirmed to have COVID-19.
The state’s count of confirmed cases is now at 64, Gov. J.B. Pritzker said in a press conference Saturday. Pritzker also advised people of Illinois to stay indoors this weekend.

It be great to know which county so we avoid it. But now I’m hearing Decatur has it as well. They keep staying quiet and it isn’t right but I understand why so people don’t freak but its gonna get bad

It would sure be nice to know where this patient came from rather than just saying that the patient was from one of ten counties served by SBL. We live in rural Coles County and are staying in as much as possible. However, if we knew where this person came from, we could adjust our shopping to other areas until this crisis is over. This was more of a “non-story” IMHO.
