Power goes out across Carbondale

At around 8:20 p.m. the power went out in most areas in Carbondale including the SIU campus.

According to the Ameren Outage Map, there are currently 58 outages and more than 4,000 customers without service.

At 9:14 p.m. SIU Alerts sent out a message saying, “SIU Carbondale campus is experiencing a power outage in most locations. Ameren is attempting to resolve.”
