June 21, 2023

The City of Carbondale and Southern Illinois University Carbondale announced the return of the annual fireworks display on the SIU campus on July 4, at 9:15 p.m.

For the best viewing, spectators are advised to park in Banterra Center parking lots 18 and 56. Overflow parking will be directed to lot 89, north of the Banterra Center. The city recommends viewers arrive early, as the main parking lots are usually full and closed by 9 p.m.

While waiting for the fireworks to begin, people can enjoy an array of treats fromĀ  vendors, including the American Ice Cream Truck, Bake Me Happy Food Co and Tropical Sno.
