Carbondale Consolidated Election results are in

April 6, 2021

Editor’s note: this story was corrected on April 7 at 2:20 p.m. to reflect the four candidates who have been elected to the Carbondale Elementary School District 95.

Unofficial results from the consolidated general election April 6 have been reported by the Jackson County Clerk and Recorder’s office. 

Carolin Harvey, Jeff Doherty and Ginger Rye Sanders have been elected to the Carbondale City Council. Harvey secured 966 of the 4403 votes cast. Doherty had 768 and Rye Sanders with 657 votes. Harvey had 21.94% of the votes in her favor, while Doherty had 17.44% and Rye Sanders with 14.92%.

Liz Hunter has been elected as the Township Trustee with 1181 votes, or 26.30% of the 4491 votes cast. 

Carl R. Flowers has secured Park District Commissioner with 1147 votes, or 54.88% of the 2090 total votes. 

In the Carbondale Elementary School District 95 election Erin Connelly, Catherine Field, Markida Roper and Corey Cawthon. Connelly was elected with 1095 votes, or 21.41% of the 5114 votes cast. Field had 1081 votes with 21.14% of all votes cast, Roper had 1053 votes with 20.59% and Cawthon garnered 995 votes with 19.46% of all votes 

Francis Tsung has been elected for the Carbondale High School District 165 post by securing 2026 votes, or 26.91% of the 7528 total votes cast. 

Carbondale Township Supervisor Dennis Poshard, Township Assessor Bobby Kelley and Township Highway Commissioner Brad Lam all ran unopposed.

As of 9:30 p.m. all precincts are reporting 100%.
