Battle with Bradley falls in Salukis’ favor

Saluki women’s golf followed up their first place finish at the Butler Invitational with a win over Bradley this weekend in a dual meet.

After day one of the 36-hole event at the Hickory Ridge golf course in Carbondale, the ladies found themselves down three strokes to the Braves.

Senior Emilyee McGiles led the way for the Salukis on day one shooting a round score of 74 picking up two birdies on the day.

The Salukis came back from down three strokes on day two by leading Bradley by nine strokes to finish the day with a team score of 293.

McGiles found herself at the top of the leaderboard again shooting 72 on the day in round two; SIU claimed six of the top 10 spots on the leaderboard.

Senior Moyea Russell came in at number 10 on the leaderboard with a score of 73, eight strokes better than round one.

Southern will be back in action March 19 through the 21 at the University of South Alabama in Gulf Shores, Ala.
