A 24-year-old Rockford resident told Carbondale Police that someone threw a rock through her car window between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Saturday while it was parked in the 1000 block of South Washington Street. The woman said a cellular phone worth $70 was taken from her vehicle. Police have no suspects in the incident.

Someone reportedly damaged a 22-year-old Carbondale man’s truck between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday while it was parked at Mugsy McGuire’s Restaurant and Pub, 1620 W. Main St. The man told Carbondale Police his truck was dented and scratched and an exterior rearview mirror was removed. Damage is estimated at more than $800. There are no suspects in the incident.

A 21-year-old SIUC student reported to University Police that her backpack and its contents worth about $350 was stolen around 1 p.m. Friday from the University Bookstore in the Student Center.

University Police said the Grinnell Pizzeria was unlawfully entered between 12:10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday. Thirty-eight containers of soft drinks valued at less than $300 were taken in the incident, and police have no suspects.

Jason M. Cox, 19, of Mt. Prospect was issued a notice at 2:19 a.m. Saturday to appear in Carbondale City Court for exploding fireworks on South Washington Street near Lot 101. He has a March 18 court date.

Christopher M. Yates, 19, and Justin A. Medearis, 20, of Boomer III were issued notices at 2:09 a.m. Saturday for underage possession of alcohol. The two are scheduled to appear in court March 18.

Adriane C. Doss, 27, of Carbondale was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license at 5:09 a.m. Sunday on Logan Drive. Police saw Doss leaving Southern Hills in a vehicle while responding to a disturbance. He was unable to post bond and was taken to Jackson County Jail.

Dave R. Kaczmarcyk, 18, of Mae Smith was issued a notice to appear in Carbondale City Court on a charge of underage consumption after police officers spotted him drinking at Gatsby’s II Bar and Billiards, 610 S. Illinois Ave., around 2 a.m. Sunday. Police said Kaczmarcyk also is a suspect in an incident in which a vehicle was damaged at the Newman Center parking lot. The incident is under investigation. Kaczmarcyk is scheduled to appear in court March 18.

An SIUC officer said he discovered graffiti and other symbols sprayed on the Wham Building Breezeway at 1:54 a.m. Sunday. No damage estimate was available. There are no suspects in this incident.
