One injured after Carbondale shooting Thursday morning

One person was injured after a shooting on the 700 Block of South Lewis Lane early Thursday, according to a Carbondale Police news release.

“The investigation revealed a victim with non-life threatening gunshot wounds,” according to the release. “The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment.”

The victim is not being identified at this time, according to police.

“At this point in the investigation, the only suspect description available is a short and stocky black male,” according to the release.

Police indicated the investigation is currently active and ongoing and there is no further information to share.
