Carbondale Police respond to gunfire early Friday morning

Carbondale Police responded to gunfire near North Wall Street at East Oak Street early Friday morning.

A resident in the 400 block of East Oak Street said that their home was struck by the gunfire, according to Carbondale police.

Officers identified the suspect as Traeshonne D. Blythe, 25, of Carbondale, according to a news release.

Officers determined the incident began as an argument between Blythe and an acquaintance, who was an occupant of the residence.

Carbondale Police located and arrested Blythe at his residence and charged him with Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Blythe is being held at the Jackson County Jail. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
