Police investigate Saturday morning shooting, victim suffered potential life-threatening injuries

At approximately 12:04 a.m. Saturday, Carbondale police responded to the intersection of East Chestnut Street an North Robert Stalls Avenue in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival officers met a victim suffering potential life threatening injuries, according to the Carbondale Police Department. The victim was transported to a hospital in St. Louis.
The victim is currently not being identified, and the investigation is active.

The shooter was probably spurred on by SIUC wanting to have a COP academy.
