Police investigate early Thursday morning Carbondale shooting

Carbondale police responded to a shooting at the 200 block of North Wall Street early Thursday morning which left one person with a non-life threatening injuries.

The victim is being treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, according to the police report.

The investigation revealed the victim and one of the suspects involved are acquaintances, according to the City of Carbondale police report.

One of the suspects is described to be a dark-complected African-American male in his early to mid-twenties wearing a light blue hoodies and jeans, believed to be armed with a handgun. The other suspect is described as a 31-year-old African American male wearing a black jacket, a black hoodie, and black pants, according to the police report.

Neither involved parties are associated with SIU.
