DE memorandum makes its way around Springfield

By Seth Richardson

President Randy Dunn continued his tour of Springfield Thursday, meeting with Board of Trustees Chairman Randal Thomas and Press Secretary for Michael Madigan Steve Brown.

Brown said the meeting was to finalize the memorandum of understanding regarding the Daily Egyptian’s continued existence. He said the document could be finalized as soon as tomorrow, but did not give an exact date.

“I think it’s positive indications that the leadership of the university is moving to put the media fee back on track,” he said. “I feel positive about it personally and I think so do a lot of people who are around Springfield who are associated with the legislature or press corps.”
