Salukis fall to Bison 38-10

The Salukis lost their first conference game at the hands of the Football Championship Subdivision’s No. 1 team.

North Dakota State defeated SIU 38-10 in Fargo on Saturday to extend its record win streak to 30 games. The Bison finished with 426 yards of offense, 156 more than the Salukis’ 267.

NDSU was led by its rushing attack. The Bison totaled 252 rushing yards. Senior John Crockett led the Bison with 22 carries, 99 yards and a touchdown.

The Bison outscored the Salukis 21-3 in the second half to run away with the victory.

The Salukis only trailed 17-10 after senior Thomas Kinney hit a 44-yard field goal. After the Kinney field goal the Bison scored three times to put the game out of reach.

The Bison scored on a 9-yard pass from junior Carson Wentz to junior Luke Albers. Albers barely kept his feet in bounds in the corner of the end zone to put the Bison up 24-10.

Senior running back Malcolm Agnew performed well in the loss for the Salukis. He carried the ball 21 times for 117 yards. Iannotti was 18 for 33 with 146 passing yards and a touchdown.

Senior tight end MyCole Pruitt had his 3-game streak of 100 yard receiving games snapped Saturday. Pruitt had 7 catches for 55 yards.

Pruitt had one touchdown, a 26-yard pass from Mark Iannotti in the second quarter.

SIU will play Youngstown State for a 3 p.m. game next Saturday.
