Saluki men’s basketball has picked up the last player necessary to round out its roster.

Junior guard Marcus Bartley will transfer to SIU from Saint Louis, his club team announced on Twitter.

Bartley, a 6-foot-4 guard, will redshirt this season while sitting out because of NCAA rules. He has two years of eligibility remaining after the 2016-17 season.

The Decatur native appeared in every game for the Billikens last season, averaging 3.8 points and 1.3 assists in 14.6 minutes per game.

He was second on the team in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.90.

Bartley’s freshman year was more productive when he averaged 4.9 points per game and started half the Billikens’ games at point guard.

With senior guards Mike Rodriguez and Leo Vincent entering their final seasons as Salukis, Bartley could have a large role in the 2017-18 season.
