Broderick W. Miller, 27, of DeSoto, died Monday night after being shot Sunday by a 21-year-old Carbondale man, police said.

A $1 million bond has been set for the shooter, Quentin M. Bailey, who was identified as the suspect and arrested by police Monday on a warrant for aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm.

“The results of the investigation will be presented to the Jackson County State’s Attorney and any additional charges as a result of the death of the victim will be filed through that office,” according to a Carbondale police press release.

Carbondale police responded to a report of a gunshot victim Sunday at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. The victim was shot “during an argument between acquaintances which occurred inside a parked vehicle in the 2400 block of East Main Street,” according to the initial press release.
