Players Casino and the Metro Chamber will sponsor an Oktoberfest to celebrate German heritage in Southern Illinois. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday on the River Front by Metropolis Street in Metropolis.

The event will include food, music, entertainment and contests. The Bavarian Stompers will perform throughout the day. Actors also will be dressed in authentic German costumes. Door prizes and a trip to Germany will be given away during the day.
