Kale E. Eakins, 28, of Carbondale, was arrested Friday on Douglas Drive for criminal damage to a vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance.

A suspected arson occurred on the north pedestrian overpass over Route 51 Saturday. The fire department arrived at the scene at 1:50 a.m. to discover paper fliers taped to the overpass had been set on fire. Six Plexiglas panels were damaged. There were no injuries, no suspects and no estimate on the damage.

Pashia Ann Doublin, 31, of Marion, was arrested at 11:02 p.m. Saturday at Smil’in Jacks parking lot, 760 E. Grand Ave., on a Union County warrant for misdemeanor theft. Doublin posted cash bond and was released.
