Police are investigating a case of aggravated battery that occurred at 2:40 a.m. Saturday at West College and Beveridge streets. Two individuals were treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for injuries suffered during an altercation with four unknown men.

In a separate case, two Carbondale teens were arrested on aggravated battery charges early Saturday morning. Philip J. Currey and Brian Rutz, both 18, of Carbondale, were arrested at 3:25 a.m. Saturday on West College Street and remain at the Jackson County Jail.
