SIU loses to undefeated Missouri

Missouri volleyball (10-0) beat SIU (7-4) in four sets (15-25, 27-25, 18-25, 21-25) Friday in the first match of the Butler Invitational in Indianapolis.

Only three SIU players with more than 10 attack attempts posted a positive efficiency rate. The team’s .112 attack efficiency was the second lowest of the season at .002 higher than the Salukis’ match against Arkansas State.

Senior hitter Taylor Pippen sat out for the second straight match.

Junior middle hitter Mckenzie Dorris started in her place again for the Dawgs. She tallied three kills on 14 attempts.

Junior hitter and setter Meg Viggars led the team with 12 kills.

The Salukis play at 10 a.m. Saturday against Youngstown State and finishes the Butler Invitational against host-school Butler at 5 p.m. Saturday.
