Two backpacks were reported stolen from Morris Library at 1:30 and 1:40 p.m. Wednesday. The bags were recovered with items missing. The estimated amount of loss is more than $300. Police have no suspects.

Kenneth W. Richard, 20, of Carbondale was arrested at 12:42 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of East Grand Avenue and South Washington Street for driving under the influence of alcohol. Richard posted his driver’s license and $100 and was released.
Pamela M. Chaney, 41, of Carbondale was arrested at 2:04 a.m. Thursday at South Wall Street and Pleasant Hill Road for driving under the influence of alcohol. Chaney posted her driver’s license and $100 bond and was released.
