Carbondale Police are looking for a driver of a white utility vehicle they believe was a witness to a fatal accident in February.

Montay L. Townsell, 8, of Carbondale was struck at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 5 in the 2100 block of South Illinois Avenue by a 51-year-old Cobden man.

Townsell died the next morning at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale of injuries suffered during the accident.

Police believe a white utility vehicle, possibly a Jeep, was seen just before the accident and may have witnessed the accident.

Police encourage the driver of that vehicle and anyone else with information regarding the accident to contact the Carbondale Police Department at 457-3200.
