‘Seizing the moments’ not well thought out
April 20, 1998
Regarding Josh Robison’s April 15 column, Seize the moments before graduations, one can only empathize with your worries and concerns, so there is no need to ask me to hang on. I share your disdain for continuing school for a variety of reasons.
But why do you disparage WalMart as a job, maybe even a career? Someone has to do it, and it’s better you than me. You say, Don’t take things for granted, while taking for granted that everyone should savor every smile from every pretty girl. You should have had at least one college course to inform you that not all male students are heterosexual and not all female students are homosexual.
Then again, You can only be a foolhardy college student filled with an arrogant optimism toward the future one time in your life, then you become a foolhardy taxpayer filled with a passive-aggressive pessimism toward life as we know it.
