SIUC was the only Illinois school to make the grade for partying in College Magazine last week.

The university was ranked ninth in “The Top 10 Schools That Party All Day, Every Day” by Valerie Siu, a junior studying English at University of Washington.

The article referenced Saluki football games and Carbondale’s bar scene as influential in the ranking.

Siu also cited Unofficial Halloween as a reason the university’s spot on the list. She referred to riots in the ’80s and last year’s celebration, when pedestrians flipped a car parked on Ash street.

SIUC was ranked just ahead of Houston’s Rice University and University of Wisconsin-Madison won the top honor.
