Deck head; I have big boobs.
Every week that passes by brings us closer to the Nov. 2 election. This is all the more reason for us to begin formulating our opinions regarding this year’s candidates. In turn, we should be arriving at somewhat of a conclusion as to who we are going to vote for.
Beginning this week and then continuing up to the election, I will be choosing a Democratic candidate and then I will be giving a brief profile of them. Hopefully, this should give you some idea as to whether they or their opposition are whom you want to vote for.

Barack Obama is the Democratic candidate for United States Senate for Illinois. Obama is 43 years old and was born in Hawaii. His father is a native of Kenya, while his mother is originally from the state of Kansas.
He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. Before representing Illinois’ 13th Senate District on Chicago’s
South Side, Obama worked as a civil rights attorney. Barack has two young children, ages 6 and 3, with his wife Michelle is also an attorney.
Obama has an accomplished record as an Illinois State Senator. He drafted and passed legislation that required the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases. He was also a co-sponsor of the “comprehensive reform of the death penalty system in Illinois.”
Access to affordable healthcare is by in far a priority of this candidate. Obama has fought hard to pass laws that extend health coverage for families without any form of insurance, as well as a prescription drug discount for senior citizens.
His stance on education calls for an expansion of pre-school programs and to fully fund Head Start programs. As an Illinois State Senator he worked for accessible day care for working families.
One aspect that he is against involves our tax code. Obama feels that it is wrong to reward companies that “re-incorporate” overseas and take away jobs from American citizens. He wants to shift these kinds of rewards to companies within the United States that create jobs for our citizens.

Barack Obama was the keynote speaker at this year’s Democratic National Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. Following his appearance in letters sent out to his supporters, Obama stated that at the Convention he “called for a new politics of civility and tolerance, so we can address the great challenges facing America’s future through an honest debate focused squarely on ideas and issues.”
Obama also states the following in regard to negative campaigning against him, “I am determined to continue campaigning on my record of accomplishment in the state senate and my ideas for our nation’s future, offering hope and opportunity for all our people.”
