Executive branch is wrongly accused

By Gus Bode

Dear Editor:I am a senator in the Undergraduate Student Government. As many people know, there is controversy swirling within student government. Many of my fellow senators believe the executive branch is the cause for many of the problems in the senate. This was seen in a letter that was published Thursday in the DE. I strongly oppose these views and believe the executive branch is being wrongly accused.

I believe the senators need to take responsibility for some of the problems within the senate. By blaming the executive branch, senators are saying they are doing nothing wrong and taking the easy way out. I believe that until senators are willing to accept responsibility for some of the problems within the senate, the problems will go unresolved. I also want to make sure the students and faculty of SIUC know those who make up the executive branch work very hard at what they do and should not be the focus of this controversy.
