Letter: No conflict among Greeks

By Gus Bode

Dear Editor:

Over the past two months, the Greek members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, better known as the Pan-Dash, have been under attack by non-Greek individuals. As a council, we feel this is an issue that needs to be addressed on campus. A few of the silly things that have been done are as follows: Throwing paint on banners, pretending to be a member of a Greek letter organization and making deceitful statements on Facebook/MySpace and destroying individuals’ personal property.

The Pan-Hellenic Council is a very competitive group of individuals, but we do show respect to each other and each other’s personal property. The individuals who started this uproar could not distinguish the difference between friendly competition and confrontation.

We would like to address all faculty and students to set the record straight. The members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council do not have a problem with each other, and we have the utmost respect for each other because we were all founded on the same principles. Out of respect for our founders and organizations and out of respect for you, if you or your organization has an issue with Greeks, please have the courtesy to address it to us in a mature and grown-up manner by contacting us personally.

Tyrone Williams President, Pan-Hellenic Council
