Sports Banter:
The World Series is set to begin Wednesday in Boston with the Red Sox facing the Colorado Rockies. Who will be sipping the champagne and who will be left thirsting for next year?
“The Rockies were red-hot coming in to the playoffs, but have been on ice for the longest time since February. The Bo Sox will take advantage of that rust at home with their solid pitching rotation and hot bats of late. Colorado won’t conquer the Green Monster, and will fail to bounce back at home. Bet on a sweep.”

“If anything can cool off the Rockies, it’s a nine-day layoff between games, right? Well, no. I’m picking them on the strength of their hot streak, the rest they’re getting and the parallels between this World Series and the one between the Yankees and Marlins in 2003.”
Scott Mieszala
“No matter how long the Rockies sit, they’re still going to come out on fire. The Sox just lucked out with their come-from-behind victory in the ALCS, where the Rockies dominated their series. I say Rockies in four.”

“I’ll go with the Rockies. They’re peaking at the right time. Their play has been better each game, and I feel that they just peaked at the right time entering the World Series and that their consistent performance is going to help them win the series.”
