By Gus Bode

Mayor Brad Cole announced Monday he has been elected to the National League of Cities Board of Directors.

Cole was unanimously elected to serve a two-year term during the 2008 NLC annual Congress of Cities and Expositions held last week in Orlando, Fla. Cole said the new position was an honor for the city of Carbondale.

‘This will allow me to have an even greater role in shaping some of our national policy issues,’ Cole said.’ ‘At the same time, it is a great honor for Carbondale to have a seat at the table with such an impressive group of elected officials from across the country.’
