Oh, how the mighty have fallen

Dear Editor:

The harsh reality of the bailout, or Troubled Assets Relief Program, is that party lines can be crossed even by the great George W. Bush administration. TARP is the billion-dollar bailout for the nation’s companies. This plan would allow for the government to put money in the stock of companies who have lost money in the economic downturn. He has quietly agreed and has given his consent on this plan. The irony of this action is great. This is a man who stood on gaining power by ultimatums and grabbing the public by their emotions, instead of by their reason.’ He divided the country by saying if people did not entirely agree with him they were terrorists and boldly declaring nations as terrorist countries. This is the man who in eight years in office has brought the United States to new lows in almost every aspect of the country. He is now working with the group he has alienated with great passion in the eight years before. The hope and the prayer is that the extreme Republicans will in the next four years follow suit, and look to reason instead of fantasy to further their political goals.’ ‘ ‘
