I have to give Jim Jones some credit. He has become one of the bigger stars in rap music without having much of a flow.
What he does have is swagger to spare. Jones was rocking the white V-neck chain wallet look before Wayne made it complete with his oversized Wayfarers. He also successfully planted himself within the hip-hop elite with a one-word catch phrase chorus.
So with the release of his newest album, does Jones have any more ‘BALLLIN’ type stunts up his sleeve? The answer is a resounding NO.
‘Pray IV Reign’ is missing that big ‘We Fly High’-esque single. ‘Pop Champagne’ tries real hard, but it flopped on radio well before the release of this album.
Without big club bangers Jones has to rely on his wordplay. This is not strength for the man. When his former crews, The Diplomats, were killing mixtapes on the monthly his weak flow wasn’t too noticeable when Cam’ron or Juelz Santana were also on the track.

So a bevy of guest spots would be ideal to make this record a winner. Too bad for Jones he gets lackluster turns from Ludacris, Lil’ Wayne and leftover Diplomats weed carriers.
Jones certainly has the swag, but not enough to put the album in the bag.
The new Slim Thug album came out today, occupy your hip-hop time with that.
