‘Bored’ brings promise

It seems HBO has another hit on its hands.
In September Jason Schwartzman will star in a new comedy titled ‘Bored to Death.’
The show’s cast is superb as it boasts one of the funniest men in America, Zach Galifianakis and television veteran Ted Danson.

In the show Schwartzman plays an alcoholic writer from Brooklyn who decides it should not be too hard to be a private eye and starts taking on cases. Obviously wacky antics are going to follow.
Schwartzman is a great comedic talent who has not exactly taken off the way most thought he would after his excellent turn in Wes Anderson’s ‘Rushmore’.
Even though he has not hit the A-list yet, his work has always been consistently funny. The next few months should help in making the funnyman a household name with this series and his co-starring in Judd Apatow’s third film ‘Funny People’ which comes out in July.
HBO has put up a quick trailer for the series and it looks like the guest stars are equally as funny as the rest of the cast as Kristen Wiig and Parker Posey pop up shortly.
With HBO greenlighting a second season of the hilarious ‘Eastbound and Down’ and the promise of ‘Bored to Death’ it looks like the channel is starting to corner the market on comedy.
