Mens Basketball Coach Chris Lowery said in the press release on the website the investigation is in the early stages and is being closely monitored.

“It is important to emphasize that he has not been charged with wrong-doing,” he said in the release on the website. “When the facts are known, we will act accordingly.”

The press release said Bocot, the teams third-leading scorer, would not play in tonights game against Western Kentucky.

Lowery said in a release on the website, Bocot who has started in all four games this season will practice with the team.

The Carbondale Police Department police reported Bocot was also reported to be the victim of a criminal damage to property. According to the police department both incidents are related and Bocot and the sexual assault victim are acquaintances.
