Students released early following bomb threat at Marion High School

Students were released when a bomb threat was made over the phone following a week of unease at Marion High School.

For three days community members have been protesting for the immediate firing of the coach due to an alleged racist incident with one of the students.

The school’s Central Office of Administration received the call around 9:30 a.m., students and faculty were evacuated from the building as a precautionary measure.

According to the school the threat came from a caller in New York, demanding the school’s female track coach be fired.

School administrators confirmed the coach has been placed on administrative leave.
