Jackson County reports 30 new cases of COVID-19

Jackson County Health Department reported 30 new cases of COVID-19 on Jan. 4, 2021.

As of Jan. 4, there have been 3,777 confirmed cases in Jackson County and 59 deaths, according to the release, and 3,434 individuals have been released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Franklin and Williamson Counties reported 60 new cases on Jan. 4.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Health reported 5,059 new cases on Jan. 4 and 79 additional deaths.

As of Jan. 4, there have been 984,880 positive cases in the state of Illinois and 16,834 deaths.

The Jackson County Health Department asks all residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with health department officials as they conduct contact tracing.
