COVID-19 Update: Jackson County reports 38 cases, Franklin and Williamson report 95

Jackson County Health Department reported 38 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

As of Saturday, there have been 1,840 confirmed cases in Jackson County and 27 deaths, according to the release, and 1,573 individuals have been released from isolation in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Franklin and Williamson Counties reported 95 new cases and on Saturday.

As of Saturday, there have been 477,978 positive cases in the state of Illinois and 10,154 deaths.

SIU reported 17 cases for the week, 13 were students and 4 faculty.

The Jackson County Health Department asks all residents to follow public health guidelines by wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distance, avoiding social gatherings, washing hands frequently and working with health department officials as they conduct contact tracing.
