SIU offers assistance to small businesses suffering from pandemic

SIU Carbondale’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development is offering to help small businesses deal with the impact of new safety protocols during COVID-19, according to a release from the university. 

Staff at the office are offering advice via phone and webinars for the businesses to find resources, apply for emergency assistance, apply for relief loans and protect their payroll.

“The COVID-19 virus has had a major impact on the operation and future of many businesses in Southern Illinois but we are here to help businesses navigate through these uncertain times,” Greg Bouhl, director entrepreneurship and business development for SIU, said.

“The COVID-19 Programs and Resources for Illinois Small Businesses” webinar will discuss how to apply for new programs like the COVID-19 relief program and will discuss the latest COVID-19 resources with businesses and is set for 3 p.m. on April 14.
