Women’s cross country runners compete Saturday during the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale. Coach Matt Sparks said he was pleased to be competing on the Salukis’ home turf. “It’s always nice to race at home,” he said. “We train out here everyday, so there’s a level of comfort that racing out here brings with it.” Saluki runners placed first in the men and women’s races. The Salukis will compete Oct. 4 in the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
