Six SIU students arrested for sexual assault

Six SIU students were arrested this weekend in two separate sexual assault incidents.
Both 18-year-old victims were treated and released from Carbondale Memorial Hospital, according to a Department of Public Safety report. One was an SIU student and one was not.
Dequante W. Daniels, 18, of Franklin, Tenn., Teon L. Slaughter, 18, of East St. Louis, Conner D. Mayweather, 18, of Memphis, Tenn. and Damiyon L. Griffin, 18, of East St. Louis, all of which are SIU students, were arrested for criminal sexual assault of another student at Schneider Hall. The four were transported to the Jackson County jail.

Devon R. Williams, 18, of St. Louis, and Deandre L. Downey, 20, of Centralia, both SIU students, were arrested for criminal sexual assault of a non-SIU student. Both were transported to the Jackson County Jail.
