Dave Lubbs, of Carterville, works on a bicycle’s brakes Thursday at Phoenix Cycles in Carbondale. Lubbs said he has worked at Phoenix Cycles for five years and is now the shop’s manager. Lubbs said the shop usually sees one to two bicycles per day during January with students making sure their bikes are in good condition for the upcoming semester. Demario Phipps-Smith-Daily Egyptian
